Power Soil Auger Sampler
For soil sampling, construction and more, earth augers are gasoline
powered and portable. Using one operator, they allow fast and easy
drilling. They feature snap-on or screw-on augers and extensions.
Engine mounted on wheel-base carrier keeps motor noise and
fumes away from the operator. Torque tube eliminates counter torque.
Features such as the carrier and torque tube offer greater mobility,
beneficial in areas inaccessible to large equipment, on slopes and
horizontal drilling, various standard sampling methods to obtain
material samples. Recoil starter and spring-loaded throttle-in-handle
assembly provide fingertip control.
Centrifugal clutch, heavy-duty flexible shaft connects to the motor
and provides for a smooth operation. Blades and points are tool
steel, hard-surfaced and heat treated. Blades are reversible for longer
life. Most augers are snap-on design; smaller diameter augers are
screw-on.

Sampling Auger Probe
Sampling Auger Probe is designed especially for sampling of fine powders that tend to compact, making insertion of normal probes difficult. Ideal for powdered metals and chemicals.
Construction is double-tube, 1" O.D. (25.4 mm) and 39" long (991 mm). There are 13 sample openings with partitions between openings; inner tube rotates to close openings for removal. An auger vane is brazed onto bottom 13" (330 mm) of outer tube, and a "T" handle is welded to top for augering.

Cross Handle & Extensions
For use with various AMS Augers and samplers, the Cross Handle has a baked-on rubber coating for comfort and electric shock protection. Extensions in 2 ft. to 5 ft. (0.6-1.5m) lengths are aircraft quality chrome molybdenum seamless construction.

AMS Augers
AMS augers are available for a wide range of soil conditions. All use manual cross handles and extension rods, ordered separately. Augering up to 5 ft. (1.5m) in less than two minutes and to total depths of up to 30 ft. (9.1m) may be achieved with most types.
Augers make holes about 3/8" to 3/4" (9.5-19.1mm) larger than cylinder sizes. They have strong carbon steel bails and hard-drawn stainless steel cylinders welded to bits forged from high-carbon alloy steel. Sharpened edges are heat treated stellite. Standard Augers are for ordinary soils. Mud Augers are for heavy wet soils and clays, and Sand Augers are for dry sandy soils. All are available in four sizes.

Motorized Sample Ejector
Similar in design and construction to the Hand operated heavy duty sample
ejector, this model features the use of a 5-ton capacity motorized
hydraulic pump and ram assembly. The unit incorporates extended
upright rods in order to accommodate both standard 4" or 6"
asphalt and soil compaction molds as well as the taller gyratory compaction
molds.

Portable Sample Ejector
The Portable Sample Ejector is powered by an 8000 lbf (35.6 kN) manual hydraulic jack. The versatile HM-520R includes all discs and adapter plates to push samples from 2" and 3" diameter thin-walled soil tubes or 4" and 6" diameter soil or asphalt molds. Pusher discs attach quickly to piston. Adapter plates fit quickly into upper reaction frame. Reaction frame is supported by dual columns, each with three holes for pin mounting. Sample ejecting starts in top position. Then, the frame is dropped for additional jacking at the other two locations until sample is free.

Motorized Hydraulic Sample Ejector
Provides a very efficient and easy means for rapid ejection of samples
from standard 3" (76.2mm) thin wall sample tubes. When operated in
the standard vertical position, the ejector requires only a maximum
height of 76" (1,930mm) when extruding samples from a 36" (914mm)
long tube.
In operation, two electrically driven cylinders, working in tandem, are
used to pull the tube down in 20" (508mm) increments. The tube
gripper assembly was specifically designed to securely hold the thin
wall tube in place and quickly release when the ejection process has
completed without damaging the tube.
